December 1, 1955. Montgomery, Alabama. That’s the date that Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a city bus to a white man, and thereby emerged as symbol for standing up for equality. She held up the number 7053 in her mugshot, which instantaneously became an iconic image. The fight to do what’s right should never go by the wayside.
