Carmelo Anthony left his mark forever during the 2003 season at Syracuse, a run that sent shockwaves down the halls of the Carrier Dome that still shake the rafters there two decades later. A silky-smooth scorer with the feathery jumper, he wasn’t merely another prodigy whose smile could light up a room.

That smile became part of the culture. It seemed to carry within it the school’s secret lore. It was an attitude to share in. To smile like that was to believe, and belief was contagious in 2003. He took the Orange all the way. Undefeated at home. Undefeated through March Madness. Undefeated as a campus legend.
