At the University of Washington, Bruce Lee broke tradition and taught kung fu to the non-Chinese. He won a devoted following and led classes wherever he could find an open space – under the campus portico, parking lots, even garages.
With his keen eye for detail, Bruce Lee opened the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute on University Way in Seattle and worked on every aspect of the school – from painting the sandwich board sign and designing the membership cards to winning new pupils. He centered fully on his students, cultivating a close-knit community of active and committed followers.
